Client: Invisalign / Colle + McVoy
During the American Association of Orthodontics conference, Invisalign wanted to engage with users and educate them about its products in a quick, responsive, and fun game environment. To do so, we created a quiz game allowing users to compete against each other in real time using their mobile devices. They answered questions about Invisalign products, with the highest scoring players of each day winning a fantastic prize.
By utilizing web technologies instead of native mobile applications we were able to get booth visitors in the game much faster by avoiding the need to download an app. To keep things in synch in a high-latency environment, we used a modified version of the Berkeley algorithm across clients. An administration screen allowed quick blacklisting of inappropriate user names as well as modification of game properties.
The Invisalign Quiz was installed at the AAO conference in Orlando, Florida. Four iPads with a dedicated network connection were available for users to start play quickly. Most users, however, experienced the quiz from the comfort of their own devices.
